The new features in WebDeck 5.0 are as follows:
- Meta tagging systems - WebDeck now has 3 distinct meta tagging options. The first system being the original meta tags used in the head of HTML pages, which can be set at a wholistic level or over-ridden further down the content folder tree. The second system is the Dublin Core meta data standard which can be applied to all images and documents on the site. The third system is a proprietary tagging system built in a hierarchical structure to enable articles to be tagged appropriately and linked together through tags they have in common.
- Web statistics within WebDeck now has a configurable IP address black list to prevent the system from logging data from uptime checkers or other automated systems that poll the website for information. Click through reports are also upgraded in this release.
- The XStandard control is a commercial application that has been integrated into WebDeck and produces XHTML 1.1 compliant code. The editor comes with integrated spell checker and accessibility screen reader preview button. More information about the XStandard control is available from the XStandard website.
- WebDeck now comes with an events calendar. The calendar allows events to be added in particular groups and a number of available positions for each event. Users of the website can apply to attend an event until all places are filled then the event is removed from the site. An administration interface allows the WebDeck user to see all customers signed up to each event.
